Child Evangelism Fellowship®, also known as CEF®, is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the local church for Christian living.
The ministry has grown into the largest evangelistic outreach to children in the world. CEF is currently ministering in over 157 countries and in every state in the U.S. In Alabama, there are six Local Chapters located throughout the state.
CEF has different types of evangelistic programs, but the two most identified with the organization are 5-Day Clubs® and Good News Clubs®. These two exciting ministries take place in neighborhood settings such as homes, backyards, schools and community centers all over the world. These fast-paced, one-hour programs are designed to bring the Gospel of Christ to children on their level in their environment.
A third program is Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA). This is a summer missionary opportunity for teenagers and college students. There is an application process, time for raising support, training and then serving four to six weeks in a local chapter teaching 5-Day Clubs to children. Each summer, thousands of children in Alabama hear the Gospel message through 5-Day Clubs.
The Central Alabama Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship was blessed last ministry year to have reached 2518 children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our two primary ministries of Good News Clubs and 5-Day Clubs. Out of the 2518 children, 86 believed in Jesus as Savior! There are currently 12 after-school Good News Clubs meeting in Central Alabama, 11 in public elementary schools. We had 16 summer missionaries last year serve in the CYIA ministry----teaching 64 5-Day Clubs. Praise the Lord! |
