God has given us a passion not only to bring children into a right relationship with God, but to disciple them in His Word and establish them in Bible-teaching churches to become mature in their faith. Child Evangelism Fellowship® believes there is no more pertinent or effective work. Our heart is to assist and lift up the local church to see her doing the work.
Central Alabama
Child Evangelism Fellowship® has been reaching children in ministry since 1937, while the Central Alabama chapter has been ministering to the area since 1955. CEF®of Central Alabama is a local CEF® chapter that operates under the governance of CEF® of Alabama, and in accordance with the guidelines set by CEF® USA Ministries. The local chapter is governed by both the Local Committee and Staff, who serve in a relationship that best benefits the chapter. Our chapter covers 15 counties and our vision is to see active ministry ongoing in each and every one of them. Our counties include Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Dallas, Autauga, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Butler, Crenshaw, and Pike Counties.
What We Believe
The fact that a young child can comprehend the simple message of salvation and become a child of God is the foundational principle of CEF®. Everything else that we do is based upon this fact. The good news of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation. We must present it clearly and accurately. You can read our Statement of Faith to know more about our Biblical principles.
Strategic Plan
For a better understanding of our goals and methods, you can read a summary of the Strategic plan for CEF® of Central Alabama. We are a committee and a Region of CEF® of Alabama; which is affiliated with CEF® International. Included, as part of this summary, are our parent organization's purpose and values as well as those which are specific to our Central Alabama Chapter.
Our Staff
Naomi kemp, Local Coordinator
My story with CEF began in the spring of 2003 when I did the Christian Youth in Action program. I was hooked! Learning this effective way to share the gospel was one of the best experiences of my young life. I did CYIA all through high school and most of college, was Summer Coordinator in 2011, and was a volunteer as much as I could for CEF since then with events and Good News Clubs.
God called me to become the Local Coordinator in March 2019, and together with the other creative and amazing people in our group, we spread His love, wisdom, and the story of His amazing grace throughout Central Alabama. My responsibilities include overseeing our various ministries, CEF promotion, and chapter fundraising under the supervision of the local committee and the State Director. Please look around our website and contact us to learn how you can be a Godly change agent in your area!

Heather green, office manager
Heather is a resident of Eclectic, AL. Her husband, Britt, is the senior pastor of First Baptist Eclectic. They have been married for 21 years and have 4 children. Heather is a homeschool mom and is very involved in her church. She believes in the mission of CEF and came on as the office manager in late 2023 after her second oldest son, Eli, became involved with the CYIA program. We are very grateful for her energy and attentiveness to detail!

Jessica is passionate about seeing children and youth reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Savannah Barber, Volunteer Teacher Trainer
In 2020, Savannah left her role as Ministry assistant after serving within the ministry for 15 years. While she is not longer “on staff,” she is still an invaluable asset to the local chapter and serves as a volunteer teacher trainer. She is also still heavily involved in the ministry and helps me (Naomi) with any institutional knowledge I need to continue ministry work! Thusly, she is still staff in our hearts and because of her involvement in spreading the Gospel not only as a volunteer but as a teacher to middle school children.
Local Committee
Across the United States, faithful believers with vision and godly character lead the CEF® work in their states and local areas. Fulfilling the call of God in their lives, they direct the ministry by serving on local committees and state boards. The desire of CEF® of Central Alabama is to enlist, equip, and encourage a team of qualified leaders to fulfill God's purpose and expand His work.
