What is “Precaria”?
The English term prayer is from Medieval Latin precaria meaning "petition, prayer.” Especially during this time, we want to gather our prayer warriors to petition for the young souls currently in ever changing environments and in a time of continual upset of routine. As we cannot be in the schools as much as we normally would, we want to cover them in prayer. This monthly e-mailed newsletter will have the names of the schools where Good News Club would normally be happening, the few that are planning on allowing in-person clubs starting in October, and prayer requests sent to our office for which people want prayer. Some will be specific and some will be anonymous, but we will lift the needs of our schools, churches, fellow believers, and community in prayer.
Matthew 18:20 states, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (ESV) We might not be able to gather in person, but imagine the impact we can have gathering in spirit to pray over our community!
We began these in September 2020 and took a break in December to catch up on end of year items. You should have a January newsletter by first working week and so on for the other months of 2021. If you would like a prayer request included in a monthly update you can email me at cefcentralal@gmail.com any time with the subject line “Prayer Request for Precaria” and I will add to the next month!
